RBL Poole Branch

Project 2026

Our ambitions for the year ahead

Project 2026 is the Poole Branch's plan to grow, strengthen, and make a greater difference to veterans, serving personnel, and their families across Poole and Dorset. Led by Branch Chairman Tony Harvey and Secretary Ian Talbot, it sets out our priorities for the year.

Background

Why 2026 Matters

2026 is a significant year for the Royal British Legion. Across the country, branches are being asked to reflect on their purpose, renew their commitment to the Armed Forces community, and plan for a sustainable future.

For the Poole Branch, Project 2026 is our response to that call. It is a practical, community-focused plan built around three pillars: growing our membership, deepening our welfare reach, and making Remembrance more visible and meaningful across Poole and Dorset.

We are proud of what this branch has achieved over more than a century of service. Project 2026 is about making sure the next chapter is just as strong.

"A practical, community-focused plan built around growing membership, deepening welfare reach, and making Remembrance more visible."

Strategy

Our Three Pillars

01

Grow Our Membership

We aim to welcome more veterans, serving personnel, and civilian supporters into the Poole Branch. A larger, more diverse membership means more voices, more volunteers, and more funds for welfare.

02

Strengthen Welfare Support

We are expanding our welfare outreach — reaching veterans who may not know help is available, improving our drop-in provision, and working with partner organisations across Dorset.

03

Make Remembrance Matter

From VJ Day to Remembrance Sunday, we are committed to marking every significant date with dignity and community involvement — ensuring the sacrifices of all who served are never forgotten.
