The History of the Royal British Legion Logo
Community

The History of the Royal British Legion Logo

A Symbol of Remembrance and Support Since 1921. Over the years, the Royal British Legion logo has evolved while always staying true to our purpose: to remember the fallen and support the Armed Forces community. 1921 — The Original: a simple laurel wreath and crown representing honour, victory and service. 1920s–1940s — A Stronger Identity: bolder and more defined, building recognition during times of war. 1940s–1970s — A Modern Look: cleaner, more modern design reflecting the Legion's wider peacetime role. 1970s–2014 — The Poppy Era: the red poppy became a key part of the logo, connecting the Legion's identity with the nation's collective memory. 2014–Present — A New Chapter: the stylised RBL logo, bold, confident and instantly recognisable. Today — Poole Branch: our branch proudly carries the national symbol into our local community. Remember the Fallen. Support the Living. Together we are stronger.
